Shimo Roadside Palomas

For part two of The Endless Horizon series, members of the Snow Peak team traded the greenery of Portland for the rugged and majestic desert landscape of Moab, Utah. Don’t miss a detailed travel journal of their excursions, plus a few tasty recipes like Chicken Burritos and Camp Micheladas.

Sometimes you just need to create your own happy hour. We made these refreshing palomas on the side of the road while enjoying an epic view. Make one for yourself and a friend!

Gear:

  • Shimo Beer Tumbler
  • Spork
  • Cutting Board Set L

  • Ingredients:

    • 1 grapefruit wedge
    • ¼ cup fresh grapefruit juice
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • ¼ cup mescal or tequila
    • ¼ cup club soda

    Method:

Add salt to the Tableware Plate, then rub the lime along the rim of the tumbler. Dip the rim in the salt until coated, then combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar in the tumbler.  Stir with the Spork the sugar dissolves.  Add mezcal or tequila, then ice, and top off with club soda.

Garnish with grapefruit wedge, then take a sip and enjoy the view.
