New Ventures Manager

PURPOSE

The New Ventures Manager is responsible for coordinating and building business strategies to facilitate company growth. Working in close partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, this position will contribute strategic thought partnership, project management, and handoff of new business objectives. To be successful, the New Ventures Manager will need to exceed at managing multiple cross functional projects concurrently, driving internal and external collaboration, developing and adhering to profitability metrics, and ensuring business growth objectives are met.


This position is a full time exempt hourly position with benefit eligibility and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Core hours are Mon-Fri between 8am – 5pm. Availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays is occasionally expected and ability to travel (including overnights and last minute) is required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform market and competitive analysis with a keen ability to identify and analyze potential business opportunities
  • Evaluate appropriate information to forecast the return on future business transactions; contribute to creation of revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections
  • Use a range of frameworks and methods to generate, test and prioritize a large hopper of potential concepts in a systematic yet rapid way
  • Identify and communicate uncertainties and risks; implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Develop and deliver compelling new business pitches as a brand ambassador with a sensitivity for the differences in global culture communication
  • Control the execution of multiple concurrent projects to ensure that commitments are met within established scope, budget, schedule and timeline
  • Collaborate with internal Brand and Sales teams and external partners to develop go to market (GTM) strategies
  • Ensure all key stakeholders have a common understanding of the project objectives, processes, and results to be achieved
  • Schedule tasks, deadlines, and milestones for all stakeholders and resources and provide detailed milestones for all parties
  • Efficiently and competently manage problem resolution, e.g. scope-creep, changed requirements, missed deadlines, etc
  • Communicate relevant project information to stakeholders, including holding regular status meetings with the project team, resolving or escalating issues in a timely fashion, and communicating sensitive information tactfully
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Plan and implement strategic objectives that fulfill the mission and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively in collaboration with leadership team
  • Evaluate, improve, and report the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance profitability and qualitative results
  • Engage in effective feedback systems to monitor and communicate operational and strategic alignment with interdepartmental objectives
  • Manage departmental budget and profitability metrics

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in progressive leadership roles within startup enterprises, with demonstrated success in consumer insights, expansion strategy, project management, and/or product launch
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of compliance related laws and regulations
  • Advanced writing and documentation experience with demonstrated success in strategic messaging
  • Advanced expertise in Excel and analytical projections and reporting
  • Expert understanding of the financial and business acumen to drive profitability
  • Expert understanding of project management fundamentals including schedule, resource, and capital management
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent ability to understand and negotiate terms of business agreements
  • Excellent ability to simplify and achieve complex goals
  • Superior presentation and public speaking
  • Superior time management skills with a proven ability to efficiently manage multiple, concurrent, time-sensitive projects and priorities
  • Superior problem-solving abilities to meet ambiguous and multicultural needs
  • Extremely organized with meticulous attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse audience in person, by phone and by computer
