Noasobi: The Art of Being Outside
For more than two decades, the concept of Noasobi has been central to Snow Peak’s approach to time outside. The literal translation from Japanese is “playing in the field” and it illustrates a broader picture of the joy experienced in nature. More simply put, it’s the art of being outside, which encompasses all the ways we eat, gather, play and live together in closeness with nature.
We all reflect noasobi in our own ways as we engage with the outdoors, but for Snow Peak, the concept is rooted in the camping experience. We view the campsite as the destination, which grounds us into the present moment and allows us to indulge in the slow pleasures of outdoor living. Creating shelter, cooking, eating, gathering and sleeping – all part of our daily lives but take on new meaning when enjoyed in nature.

Noasobi is the peaceful feeling of waking up with the sunshine on your face. It’swatching the first snowflakes fall silently to the ground. It’s a child’s excitement at seeing their first shooting star. Noasobi brings us together under the open sky – whether around the campfire, next to the river, or on the trail.

Snow Peak’s mission is to restore the human spirit through time outside. Our gear and apparel serve as catalysts for memorable moments that reconnect us to the rhythms of nature. At our Long Beach Campfield, we bring everything together, providing a quintessential Snow Peak camping experience that centers on rest, leisure and connection with the natural world and those around us.

When we succeed in our mission, noasobi is the result. The Art of Being Outside is embedded in the Snow Peak DNA and inspires all that we do.
