Digital Merchandising Assistant

PURPOSE

The Digital Merchandising Assistant is responsible for E-commerce support such as reporting, competitive analysis, new product information set-up, merchandising grids, and item tracking. This role will analyze customer behavior trends using Google Analytics and align product placement with creative messaging. To be successful, the Digital Merchandising Assistant will need to manage a wide variety of reports with accuracy and timeliness, ensure that deadlines are met, and collaborate with internal teams.


This position is a full time nonexempt hourly position with benefit eligibility and reports to the Digital Commerce Manager. The starting compensation is between $19 and $23 per hour depending on experience and the hours are Mon-Fri between 8am – 5pm.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute weekly site updates including item placement and categorization management based on determined strategy and campaign promotions
  • Conduct weekly reporting and analysis of onsite behavioral trends using Google Analytics and Shopify reporting tools
  • Perform daily site review and item maintenance to ensure site functions and displays are accurate
  • Support creative messaging efforts through product recommendations, editorial content updates, collection curation, and navigational updates as assigned
  • Partner with logistics team to manage new and restocked inventory
  • Build and maintain product pages, tagging standards, curated product collections, and filter tools
  • Identify opportunities for growth through onsite optimization
  • Build, adapt, and maintain tools and reports
  • Suggest strategies for process improvements
  • Develop and maintain documentation and standards
  • Support change management processes within the department
  • Train new and existing employees on systems and processes
  • Provide support and advice on cross-functional projects
  • Participate in team meetings; provide knowledge, support, and advice for interdepartmental process improvements, projects, or policy revisions

MUST HAVE

  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 2 years of experience working on a digital/ecommerce team
  • General knowledge of Google Analytics
  • General knowledge of digital platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc.)
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient understanding of the financial and business acumen to drive profitability
  • Proficient understanding of excel and analytical reporting
  • Advanced ability to maintain data integrity
  • Ability to learn quickly; creatively solve new problems
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Degree from a college or university
  • Experience in the outdoor or fashion industries
  • Experience using Shopify and/or any other digital platform

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
