Shizuka Scene: A PNW Winter Afternoon

January in the Pacific Northwest is often regarded as one of the less pleasant months to be outdoors. We’d like to offer a different perspective. This wintery Shizuka Scene takes us to the banks of the icy Sandy River in Mt. Hood National Forest. Stately firs stretch up to the gray sky. We spent the afternoon next to the fire, sheltered by a tarp, with a warm drink in-hand. The gurgling river, snapping fire and whispery wind were the only sounds. Enjoy the scene for yourself by viewing the video below. We hope it serves as a soothing reminder of the frigid beauty that can be enjoyed during the winter months.
