| Lighting Instructions for the White Gas Stove
Here are some helpful tips on lighting your white gas stove. Fill the bottle to the line or close to it just not over it. Insert the pump assembly making sure that the valve is in the closed position (counter clockwise). Now pump the plunger keeping thumb on hole, at least 50 times to properly pressurize the bottle, the less fuel the more pumps, you can’t over pressurize there is a safety release, so pump away. Attach the hose to the bottle then to the stove (Hand tight) Fully open the flame control valve on the stove. (Counter clockwise) Look to make sure that the lever on the pump is set on light (Pointing away from stove) Keep your head and hair away from where the flame will be! With the bottle on your left and the stove on your right, light your match and hold it over the stove. Turn the valve on the pump fully open; with the match over the stove it will light instantly. Watch and listen to the stove, the flame could go up to 16” high with an irregular white looking flame for about 30 seconds. When it calms to a blue flame turn the light lever to cook. If the flame looks weak, you may need to pump more air in the bottle. You are now ready to cook your meal! When you want to turn the stove off, turn the valve on the pump clockwise and let the flame burn out on its own. I will even tip the bottle up so all the fuel drains out of the hose. To re-light: remove the hose to make sure there is no fuel in it, and then reattach. Then go through the above steps to insure a successful lighting. If there is any fuel in the hose when lighting it will flood and drip out through the hole just before the burner tube. If you have any other questions call our technician @ 503-697-3330 |
