The weekend of April 1-3 we attended our first Overland Expo showing off all the gear we have to offer from luxury camping to minimalist camping. The Overland Expo is an event held annually in Amado, AZ located just south of Tucson. The Expo is public show for Overlanding enthusiasts who are interested in furthering their knowledge and driving techniques through various classes offered. Also many manufactures were available on site to provide expertise on outfitting people and their vehicles for Overlanding.
Overlanding is an activity for those who travel for days, weeks or months around the world sometimes through multiple countries either by vehicle or motorcycle. Overlanding trips typically consist of traveling on off pavement back roads. To learn more about Overlanding check out Overland Journal, their magazine is full of adventure stories and some of the best outdoor photography.
At the event we lent our expertise in kitchen camping gear and our experiences with preparing food in the field. It was enjoyable learning more about the community as well as taking in a few classes on traveling through Mexico on a motorcycle, one pot cooking, and preparing your vehicle for Overlanding. Like many Snow Peak enthusiast a lot of the attendees of the Expo were happy to see the wide variety of Snow Peak products first hand. We did our best to set-up a grand display of bamboo tables, chairs, cookware, and stoves and we believe many people were impressed with our breadth of products.
At the show we introduced one of our newest products coming available in May, the 2 Unit Iron Grill Table. This smaller frame size will be great for those who desire an even more compact configurable camp kitchen. Check it out if you haven’t seen it already.
