Traditional Yamanka lacquer ware has about 450 years of history. The high lathe carving technique produces a beautiful bowl. This set includes the a stacking feature of three bowls with a plate serving as the lid. The bowl are similar to the ones Buddhist monks have used for centuries in their training. The bowl is made with zelkova wood which is cut along the direction it was grown providing for highly durable tableware. Each bowl is also coated with natural lacquer which brings out the natural warmth of the wood which will enhance even the nicest dinner. Lastly, a special carrying case, dyed with a bamboo charcoal powder, allows the easy storage of this set.
